Alternatives to OMC Adhesive M sealant, Triple Guard, and OMC Gasket Sealing Compound

Howdy.......I'm doing the water pump rebuild for the first time and need to know which after-market products do the same thing? My OMC manual wants me to buy their brand of course, but I imagine there are substitutes. Thanks.......

I know I'll get some heat for this but in all the years I've I worked on these mtrs I've always used what the manufacture recommended.

Im the same as Boobie. Not only because that is what is recommended, but I LIKE the products as well.

Scotchgrip 3M 847 is the replacement adhesive. The Gasket sealing compound is a great product, with a brush built into the lid. I suppose you could use many other gasket compounds. Never tried them though.

The grease you will have a multitude of options to choose from. Ensure it is waterproof though.

Any anti corrosive grease will do, available just about everywhere.

Gasket sealer... auto parts store. Comes in a can with a brush in its screw off cap.

OMC adhesive... Don't skimp on this one. It is now "Bombardier 3M Product #847".
