I am on the last legs of my longblock install.

I have a new alternator, but I want to make sure of the wiring before I start things up..

The old alternator (Mando) had the large positive post, the smaller negative (ground?) post, and the red (sensor) and purple (exciter?) wires

The new alternator has the large positive post, a bracket ground post, and a black wire and a red wire coming from a platic boot from the inside of the alternator. I do not have any specifics on the new alternator because it was drop shipped as part of the longblock purchase. There were no wiring diagrams in the box.

question: are the black and red wires the sensor and exciter wires?

Thanks in advance.
