Installed replacement alternator and am seeing output voltage up to 16 volts.
On startup output is 14v and goes up to 16 after a few minutes of runtime.
Can this output level cause issues with the electronics?

Previous alternator got accidentally drenched with saltwater when testing water pump.

Ayuh,... You should be seeing 13.6V after the battery recharges after starting...
16V can cause All sorts of Problems...

Have you tested the voltage with a test meter? You need to verify it's not just your helm instrument. That is way too much voltage and will damage your battery. The regulator is probably defective in your new alternator if that voltage is correct.

Yep put a mulitmeter on the battery terminals same voltage as gauge. Maybe the voltage regulator is bad. '

Any other reason for the voltage to run that high?
