I have a Mando alternator that allows for a warning light (L2) to be hooked up. At what point does this warning light come active?
The reason I am asking is I always run the fear of leaving my ignition switched on and burning out my pertronix unit. So I would like to a light and/or buzzer hooked up somehow that when the ignition is on and engine not running I can be notified. Could serve as a warning to passengers that the engine will be starting. I know modern setups have these lights/buzzers, but I would like it on my old volvo setup too

Thanks for your input.

Normally closed, Low oil pressure switch hooked to buzzer. With the ign. switch on and engine not running, the warning buzzer would be on.

Very quick reply Don
How can I hook a oil pressure switch AND my oil pressure gauge at the same time?
Any diagrams?

Thanks

Nevermind, just found oil pressure sending units with with warning light connections :)

P.S. what is the warning light on the Mando alternator used for anyway?????

Install a "tee" at the point the oil pressure sending unit is plumbed in. Then run the pressure switch off that.

It isn't used for anything in the marine application.
