1999 Volvo 5.7
Mando (I believe) alternator
My alt stopped working so I had it rebuilt. I haven't re-installed it yet. When I disconnected it, the wiring was as so:
- Large orange to the B terminal
- Purple (and 2 others) to the EXC terminal
- Large black to the E (ground) terminal
- Small orange wire jumped from L2 to S
- Large red not connected to anything
Questions are:
Why is there a small orange wire jumping the Lamp terminal and the Sense terminal?
The large unconnected red wire has voltage at all times. Should it be connected to the Sense terminal?
