I have a 21 ft pontoon boat. I can hear water in the port side rear chamber.Doesent leak badly enough to effect flotation but i trailer the thing. how do i locate the leak?
Should be a threaded fitting for each chamber, you will need to pressurise the toon (not too much, 5 - 10PSI should be plenty). Listen for the leak or spray soapy water around the welds.
Common problem, look ans search on this forum:

http://www.harrispublishing.com/fusetalk/forum/categories.cfm?catid=24

Depending on the brand (Mine is a Tracker Fishin Barge) the plugs will be in various places. Mine are on the top of the toons. I went to the hardware store and bought a 1/2 in plastic plug with a 3/8 in hose barb coming off at a 90 degree angle. Attach a piece of clear vinyl hose to the barb and cut a tire valve stem down to size so it can be forced into the end of the hose for a snug fit.

The General rule on the other thread is do not exceed 5 psi. You wont need to anyway, just a few seconds of hitting it with the air and you will probably hear the leak before you see it. Soapy water in a spray bottle will confirm the location.

Tracker toons are supposed to be lifetime warrantied but I cant find anyone that wants to discuss it at tracker.

Both of my toons have leaks at the rear where the deck supports are welded to the pontoon.

They must flex while we are pulling the kids because after a week at the lake I can get about 55 gallons of water out of them.

Good Luck,

Jay
