Just inherited a beautiful older Alumacraft 14' boat Model F-142. There's no spec. plate that I can find, so I'm assuming it's pretty vintage. Is there anyone out there with any info about this boat?

Re: Alumacraft F-142?????

Well...the Model F was around pretty early in AlumaCraft's history. I have what I believe to be a '49 fold-out catalog that has the F featured nicely. AlumaCraft started their numbering at 100 or 101...that would make this definitely a pre-1950 boat. Perhaps '47-48? They made a lot of them so yours is the 41st or 42nd example. A nice bit of history and a reminder that things can be made that last 60 years and still be used and enjoyed. Nice boats....

Thanks for the response. I'm really curious about the weight capacity and HP rating? I was hoping to put this boat to good use. I've searched the web and haven't found much.

Call their customer service line. The lady I talked to about F9's the other day was extremly helpful and had all the specs on file that I needed :)

Re: Alumacraft F-142?????

I've tried calling their customer service line 23 times...no lie and left several voice messages concerning my boat. I sit on hold for roughly five minutes until the answering service picks up every time. I leave all the info concerning my boat and all my contact info as well. I have yet to receive a call back. I've also sent five emails with all of my info and have not received a single return email. I don't know what more to do. I really don't want to put this boat in the water without knowledge of it's capacities and capabilities.

16 hp is a limit I see in a very early A/C catalog for the F. Maybe 600 lbs. They upped the capacities in '56 or so when they widened the boat in the mid-section and did some tweaking to the stiffeners in the hull (maybe '58 for those). Usually AlumaCraft is quick on their response to myself and others.
