Ok I am working on gettting an old alumacraft FD I just bought back into shape. The previous owner had replaced the transom wood with green treat. After hearing mixed reviews on the results of PT on aluminum I figured better safe than sorry and pulled it out. I now have the new transom wood cut and ready to go in but am worried what type of metal fassteners can I use? I dont want to use a metal that will react with aluminum any body have advice for me?

Ayuh,...

For joining wood to aluminum, you can't beat SSteel fastners.....

You can get aluminum screws which would garantee no corrosion but stainless is much eaiser to get with very little corrosion.
If you are going to (a must)use an adhesive to stick it to the hull as it was from the factory ( it adds to the streghth which is why the FD's are rated 45 in us and 35 in canada) the screws will only be there to hold it snug and in place until the glue cures.

Love the curved transom, do you have its bow cap?

As long as it is a good quality marine grade wood you should never well I shouldn't say that, I doubt you will ever need to replace it.
If you got a boat cover for it I would think never in your time.

Too bad on the cap as it has come in handy, either way there are a well built boat that will out last many if not all in it class. This is just my opinion and it was free.
Don't forget to Gluv-it.
