Re: Alumacraft Model R 1949

That is one cool old Alumacraft! If you don't mind, I have a number of questions as I have not seen one quite like this one.

What does the model/serial number read on the transom knee?

How long is it?

How wide at the transom?

How wide at the steering wheel?

Does it have a tag that gives the horsepower rating?

Where are you located?

Unusual to say the least. It has the gunnels of a Deep C in terms of depth. The rear flotation tanks were not standard in the old era (pre-1960, for sure). Neither was front steering....perhaps a factory special? The transom brackets are true to a Model R...and only a Model R as far as I have seen. And, they weren't on the very early nor the late Model RBs and RBLs. Better photos of the inside might help. In 1949 they did not make a boat this deep per the catalog photos. This is a curious beast...More pictures, please.
