Alumacraft/Northstar F210

Hi Guys,Just took delivery of my fuel flow meterand have read the instructions and nowhere does it say how to switch it on or off,the fuse panel on my boat is always live ,do I need to install some kind of switch or can I not understand the instructions?
Boat is an Alumacraft 165cs
