Decided to restore the above 12 footer (see previous post) and replace the transom wood etc.. Alumacraft states it's a 1961 model. My biggest "leak" right now is at the bow. Does anyone know what was used originally at the inside seam of the bow? Whatever it was, mostly gone now. What would be the best way to seal this area?
Thanks,
Jim

I don't know what the original sealing material is, but seams are riveted after it is installed between the overlapping aluminum. Because most of the repair experts hang out on the Boat Restoration and Building forum, also ask your questions there.

I don't remember where I found this, but thought it might be of interest to you. Although yours is a 1961 EZ, this is the Alumacraft aluminum fishing boats for 1964.

Model & Price

EZ $199.00
E $259.00
K6 $319.00
AZ $249.00
A $279.00
F7 $359.00
FD $429.00
Yukon $599.00
K $499.00

Model EZ is the smallest model to the Yukon as the biggest. I'm familiar with all, except the K's and why the K's are listed that way.

Many thanks River-Runner. I'll check out the site and I thought also of sending and inquiry to Alumacraft. They've been pretty helpful so far. This project is starting to require a lot of "elbow grease" for a little fishing boat!
Cheers,
Jim
