Heya, I recently acquired an alumacraft boat from the local pawn shop. Registration says unkown on everything. It is in pretty decent condition 30 horse Evinrude with 10-15 prop, starts one pull 36 lb Minncota trolling motor new seats. Now I am wondering exaclty what I got my hands on. Port side just infront of the transom just below the rail I found make and model tag and limits. Alumacraft MARACAIBO for the make and model and YR6-502 on the transom support. Its is about 14' 7" long and 5.5' wide deep V. Looks to be at one time it had steering controls. At the back corners there are springs and roller guides. I know after 1972 there is supposed to be a 12 digit hull ID. Without ripping all the carpet and boards off this is the only ID I have found. I found the motor is a 1987 and runs dam good. Boat capacity is 1080#'s. Only sits in the water about 7 inches and has 2 seats front and back. So any help I could get would be a great help to solving my problem. Traded a TV for it lol. Needs work and plan on redoing it, just not now (winter project) to much fishing to be done. I will provide pics later. Just cant laugh at the shark teeth painted on the front though...........Im also in the proccess of replacing the motor support which was pine motor was moving around couldnt keep it tight board was to soft and rotted. Also it had a 1" oak bord on the outside which was 55"s X 8 and another board just below that. I dont see the that was factory as the transom is pretty well supported do I need to go back to that extreme ?
Well I finally got an Engineer from Alumacraft on the phone and I have the model wrong supposed to be Maracibo and YR6-502 mean year 1960's and 502 production number. There was 1700 models of these made from 1960 to 1967. They are sending me pics and spec's on this model. So now what guess on worth ? and exactly what year in 1960 it is.
