Hi, I have a 1978 alumicraft 14' fishing boat and it has a hole (above water line) in the front left side...the hole is from hitting the corner of a dock...it kind of looks like an aluminum can that has ben hit with the claw part of the hammer...not quite as bad as that but I have to say that the hole isn't clean...I was wondering if there is any easy way of repairing (patching) holes like these...is there any sort of epoxy that I can get or something similar? thanks a lot

You may try using the aluminum boat patch from Cabelas. I used it to repair a 3 inch tear in my old jon boat. Comes in stick form and is applied by melting with a propoane torch.

sweet....that stuff is much cheaper...that should do the trick though it may not be as good as the other stuff...but that doesn't matter, I just want the hole patched up and besides, it is above the water line...thanks a lot richp1269

Use Marine Tex IT WORKS. I have fixed many holes with it on aluminum boats

You could also patch it with a a piece of aluminum with some 3M marine adhesive/sealant or you could rivet the patch on and seal with marine sealant. Being above waterline gives you a bunch of easy, cheap options.

don't forget about good old JB Weld in the tube from any auto parts or hardware store. However those sticks from cabalas do work well.
