THere is a product that can be found at most boating stores called "On And Off". This stuff is great!!! You still need gloves tho.
But nothing works better.

If the aluminum is coated ie.anodized, Iwould use caution on what you clean it with. The 2nd thing is ,how badly is it pitted,if it only ninor, rub it down with a spray coating of T-9 avail at most marine stores.Made by Boeing, you can get it at westmarine. It works great, I use it on all marine metal.

If you have an aluminum (with no paint), it sounds corny but, CORN STARCH and a dishwashing scatcher pad works wonders. The type of pads are the square green ones-about 1/4 inch thick.

It's all bio degradable. OK for the sewer system.

You will need to poilsh after your done with a good wax to keep the oxidation from forming or the T-9 works well.
