I am getting a sheet of aluminum for a floor in my Xpress Jon boat. The sheet is .125 and the boat is .100. I was wondering about how I should attach the floor to the ribs (screws or rivits). I also was wondering about what would be good to use on the floor (carpet, paint, bedliner, etc).

thanks
longshot

Re: aluminum boat floor....

I would use screws, with 5200 sealer, if for no other fact, they are easier to remove if you would have to. As for the floor, Carpet or Rhinoliner(Spray-On) would be much quieter as far as ride and banging around while fishing! A decent quality Carpet is cheap and will last for many years and you can change the looks if you want. Just my thoughts!
