Aluminum Boat Hoist

I just bought a used aluminum boat hoist and will be changing the cable this weekend on the winch. It is about 10 years old and appears to be in good shape except for the previosly mentioned cable which is kind of rusty. I am wondering if there is any type of normal maintence that needs to be done on this. I have never owned one before and am uncertain about lubrication and that sort of thing. This is the cantilever type vs a straight lift. Any advise would be appreciated. By the way this lift has been and will be in fresh water.

You just need to crease the cable occasionally ....

Thanks DeeJayCee, do you mean the cable itself or the pulleys that it runs through? I put new stainless cable on it this weekend and it seems to be working OK.
