i have a 2009 aluminum lund boat,what i want to do is remove the drain plug that is rubber with a leaver that you bend down to make the seal ,to one that screws into the transom to except a garboard threaded brass type plug,,is this possible to do? and,another question this boat is rated for a 15 hsp motor,is it also possible to increase the rating to 25 hsp and still be leagal with in the laws ? thanks and have a nice day..................

You can probably just tap the opening for a pipe plug, assuming there's enough metal thickness there for threads without cutting through the opening. Seems like the rubber plug should be fine for that, are you having problems? My jon boat uses a 1 7/8" metal/rubber pipe plug with a big wing nt on it to tighten it up..no problems, so far. Not so good to over weight/over power your transom. Good Luck!
