This may seem odd, I am considering waxing my aluminum boat to help remove water scum and such this summer. Has anyone else waxed their aluminum boat and if you have what kind of wax did you use? From what I can tell there is not a wax out there specifically for aluminum boats. Thanks!!

Re: Aluminum Boat wax

There is no alimunum boat wax because few things will stick to aluminum.

I would clean it up really good with a super fine Scotch Brite pad then put Shark Hide on it, it is made for aluminum and will keep it looking the way it does for years.

If you use the Scotch Brite run all your lines in one direction to give it a grain then seal it.

Ayuh,... The Wax don't care whether you put it on fiberglass or aluminum...

The best stuff I found for aluminum is Woody Wax and Woody Wax Metal Sealant. It?s the only stuff only thing I found that you don?t have to continually reapply over the season. It?s expensive but a bottle last a long time. It?s the only wax I found that works well on non- skid floors as well.
