I have been in the market for a nice Aluminum Fish/Ski. Season is winding down and it looks like some sales are starting to occur. Having never bought a boat before I am wondering what percentage off of the list price I should be expecting at this time of the year. It is much more difficult to find pricing on new boats on the Internet compared to cars. So I am having a hard time determining if I am getting a good deal. Here is what the dealer is offering as their end of year closeout inventory reduction sale. I would like some feedback on if this is a decent deal or if I should press for additional money off?

$20,910 2005 Lund 1700 Fisherman with 115 Four Stroke Yamaha including Roller Trailer

The other option is to wait til March when the boat shows start occurring. Is that a better time to buy?

Thansk for the help!
Spencer

SpencerT:
I have a Lund Fisherman 1800 with a 130 Yamaha. I really like my Lund and recommend it very highly. Defiantly get it in the off-season at boat show time you will get a better deal. Lund threw in a soft tackle box and about $500 worth of Rapala Lures. Boat dealer threw in transom saver, boat cover, two Lund ball caps, couple gal of oil, and some other stuff I cant remember. Spencer I see your looking at a 1700 I would recommend to you if it works into your budget that you get a 18' with 150 - 175 hp. also don’t know where you live but the sport package is worth the money when your out on mornings and evening runs. Don’t over look Crestliner they make a fish/ski. Same parent company.
Good Luck Let us know

Spencer, That doesn't seem like a bad price. I might be getting a '05 Lund 18 Fisherman with Yamaha 150 four stroke and Eagle bunk trailer and over the phone its at $24,000. I imagine it will come down. Also found and '04 18 Fisherman with a Johnson 140 four stroke and Yacht Club aluminum roller trailer for $22,000. I'd like to believe this is the time to buy a leftover boat. If they hold on to it til spring it would be a sellers market and not a buyers market.
