Anyone have a source for aluminum hatch lids?

I've checked greatlakesskipper and C&O Marine.

Go to a local metal shop and have them made. That might even work out cheaper then being purchaed and made to your sizes.

If you want Custom fit jobbies or just things that fit .. i would suggest the same thing as BobVT said..

They don't necessarily have to be aluminum. I didn't plan to have all of them be aluminum.

I figured it would be easier to try and create a DRY storage box or three using aluminum lids. Also would be nice for a livewell lid as well just because of the constant water exposure.

My reason for asking is that you could make them out of Starboard or even plywood coated with either epoxy or poly and cloth...The Starboard is pretty much impervious to the elements and wood properly coated with epoxy is also pretty much waterproof... you could make them "dry" by adding a gasket of some type and a good latch or two...

I might just go ahead and use wood/glass. Not sure yet.

When I re-do my front deck area this winter I'm going to add a 60" long livewell, and then convert my 48" livewell into just a storage compartment liner.

The big livewell just might be a hand fabbed wood/glass job. If that's the case I'll just do the lid the same way.
