I've removed the tin floor. Changing wires and flotation material. When I replace it, I think that I should use stainless rivets where it was riveted to the hull ribs. But should they be in kinda loose? To allow for flexing? Or tight? And are stainless rivets available? Haven't searched yet

CPTMarvel, welcome!

Pics would help us to help you with your boat. The rivets that you are replacing, where are they? In the flooring, above the waterline, etc...?

Normally aluminum rivets - closed end rivets (if in the flooring) are what you want to prevent water ingress through the hull. As for the tightness of the rivet, you do not want any movement or looseness of the rivet....water will seep in with the smallest of movement!

Pics and more explanation will help us to help you....

Thanks,
Frey

Yeah, I guess I wasn't too clear on the use of the rivets! They are going through the sheet metal decking into the ribs. Nothing so far that's going to be in water unless it's already in the boat. I may have to rivet a few back in where the live well attached to the gun'el, that's above water line. All that have been removed so far have been pop rivets. I'll put pics in tonight. At work now. Thank you.

Well here goes. I will have to put a couple in the side to hold the live well on too.
