I need a new prop. my old one is aluminum 15 1/2 x 15. Iam thinking of going to stainless and my question is should i use the same dia and pitch or does it matter. i am not at max rpm range at wot. about 200 rpm less then it should be.

Re: aluminum prop to stainless

SS can do a couple of things...1, it "may" pull the RPM down in a given pitch depending on HP, boat design, old prop design, etc...2, it may provide enough additional lift to lessen the wetted area and cause an increase in speed/RPM. #2 usually happens when we go to a higher quality, application specific prop, and this can be done at a reasonable price.
