Am I missing something on Merc 165 (250ci)

Just sat my 165 Mercruiser back in my old Cruisers. What I am wondering is; the rear motor mounts are metal to metal. Shouldn't there be a fiber or rubber grommet between the mounts?
When I pulled the engine, I don't recall anything in between the mounts.

A manual would be nice, if you don't get the alignment just rigbt, you are going to be pulling that engine back out to replace that $300+ coupler. But here is how the mounts should look, unless you have replaced the rear mounts with the new style.

EEEEK...the illustration looks different than what was there. All that was there was just the bolts with a flat washer top and bottom and the nylon lock nut.
Looks like I will be doing some shopping.
