I know there has been much discussion about oils on this forum. I'm verynew here but ama veteran of a Suzuki motorcycle forum and know my Suzuki engines well. I use Amisoil in my engines and after some studying by me and my oil temp. gauges, my engines run 10-20 degrees cooler using the synthetic oil. This is on an air/oil cooled engine. I have zero knowledge of 2 cycles and was wondering if using marine amisoil in my recent purchase of a 1969 Mercury 800 80hp engine would harm the engine in any way. The previous owner who just completely rebuilt the motor says he used the "Quicksilver" brand and suggests not using anything else. Any input on this? THe Amisoil is THE product for motorcycle engines, in my opinion. I was just wondering if it would do the same for a marine 2-cycle? I don't know if it would have the same temperature reducing actions as it does on a 4-cycle. If anything reduces the temp. that's worth it's weight in gold because as we all know high temps equal earlier breakdown. THank you for any input you may have.

Also, any boaters from the central OH area? I'm new tot he sport and am looking for places to go. NOT Alum Creek!!!! Thanks
