I want to change the oil in my boat but I'm not sure how much oil the motor holds.I have asked some people about it and get different answers.I am ordering a book but I would like to get going on this project now.If anyone can tell me how much with a filter change I would be very greatfull.Thanks

Hi Trebor, <br /><br />with filter, 5.2 qts. Thats an approximate out of the clymer manual.<br /><br />Aldo

Just head to the boat with 6 quarts of oil. and start checking after 4 quarts are added, and then if you need 5 after running and checking for leaks add until you are on the full mark. (Don't overfill) Save the rest of the oil in case you need it while out on the water.

I'm with Don on that one. Exactly how much new oil is needed, Depends on how good of a job you did of getting the old oil out. A spec will tell you how much a new engine holds. Follow Don's advice and you will be fine.
