Ampage of a 15hp 96

Can anyone please tell me how much ampage ?? that a 96 15hp merc can kick out to charge a leisure battery ?????? and how the hell do i get if from outboard to battery ??<br /><br />Cheers

My '97 sales brochure says 5 amps. So I guess your '96 is 5 amps too as that isn't something you go around changing. That's probably a WOT number. Don't know what the charging curve looks like at lower rpm's but alternators are good at coming up fast so once over 1000 rpm's you are probably pumping out 3.5 to 4 amperes.<br /><br />Mark
