With all the coverage of the pro illegal immigration coverage, this is an interesting group. www.dontspeakforme.org

I have spoken with many Americans of Mexican descent that are really ticked off about the illegal immigration problem. This is the first time I have actually seen a group that will stand up and be counted. I applaud their effort.

The new group You Don't Speak for Me! formed when Col. Al Rodriguez became fed up watching media coverage of the mass protests of April. "Their leaders were saying it was a march for immigrant rights and a Latino/Hispanic movement," says Rodriguez. "I thought to myself, 'Hey, those are illegal aliens, not immigrants!'" Col. Rodriguez began speaking out to others saying, "I'm of Hispanic ancestry and those people are acting like they speak for me. Well, you don't speak for me!"

This is interesting, I'm happy to see people stand up and take a stand on this. I'm of Irish descent but wouldn't want the IRA speaking for me!

Thanks, but I cant take credit for the find. Col. Rodriguez was interviewed on the radio this afternoon. You can tell by listening to him that he is passionate about his position and also that he is not a professional speaker.

His group is attempting to support the Farmers Branch, TX city council. They passed some ordinances against illegal immigrants and have been raked over the coals by the local media and hispanic groups. The ironic part is that Farmers Branch has a large asian population, many of which are illegal.
