Alrighty... Looks like I will be just getting a total new outdrive for my 93 Mariah. I'm looking for an Alpha 1, Generation 2 outboard.

Anybody have any ideas as to the best place to find one that isn't going to totally break my pocket book (I will also be taking it in to the local boat shop to have installed... so they are going to rape me on labor fees!).

I've tried ebay and found them around $1,200.

Thanks again for everybodys help... It's been to long since I've had my boat on the water and I miss the lake!! :)

Right here on iBoats. See the ad? You can get a brand new, genuine Merc Alpha 1 Gen II with a 2 year warranty for $2,199 (60% off list).

You can buy one of the aftermarket ones for around $1,800 I think. For me, I rather a genuine Merc for the extra $400 or so...
