Hello, would like to put an Anchor on the bow of the 24 foot cobalt, but with an anchor hanging will it knock up on the boat? What kind of hardware would I need to lock the Anchor in place? I think this can be done right?

Re: Anchor for Bow

Most of the larger boats 20+ foot have an anchor davit and or pullpit. These are the extensions you see on the bow of some boats. Does your boat have an anchor locker for storing the anchor rode????
You may also want to install a cleat in line with the davit to tie off to.
just a couple of thoughts.

I think an Anchor Roller would work for what you're wanting, like this;

Others should be chiming in to confirm or reject this. :)

It depends on the boat, but yes, that is a common solution. The anchor will not hit the boat if properly secured.

Best plan is to look at other boats and see how it's done on them, then just copy the installation.

BTW: When the boat is anchored and when the anchor is being retrieved, ther can be a lot of strain on the roller. It must be mounted securely with large bolts and a backing plate.
