No personal experience with either but I believe the Powerpole is the more proven system. But, I've read the Talon system can be removed if going out when you don't need it. Also, it looks like the Talon deploys straight down while the Powerpole extends out back of boat so you would need room behind boat for that. If only using one, I would think the extension of the Powerpole behind boat would create more swing in wind/current.
