Anchor Winch

Tired of the "rope pile" and anchor on floor of the toon and would like to get an anchor winch... lots of electrics out there, and old manual crank which is sure to work every time. Recommendations?

Watch some youtube videos. They have some show the right sized anchor for the size of anchor winch that you use and the best way to set them up. I have a Minn Kota deckhand 40 and according to the video it looks like they haven't changed much in 20 years..

You could just bolt up a manual winch, but it will get old fast.
electric is kind of the way to go. Hit a button to deploy, hit a button to reel it up.
The manual hand crank one I used to use felt cool at first but I eventually just laid the rope on the floor so I wouldn’t have to work up a sweat every time we moved.

I tried to use a regular winch one time that wasn't made for raising anchors and it worked but it was agonizingly slow both in raising and lowering an anchor. I think the real anchor winches are at least $50 cheaper now than when I bought mine and I have thought about getting another one for the back of the boat to keep it from swinging around on just one anchor.
