Re: And I'm sitting here waiting...
Hey guys,
Yeah, I just bought that ball yesterday. I went with a 3.5 inch drop, and thought about the 5.25 they had. Honestly, it's pretty good, but the yard where I was parked was uneven...it could probably be a little lower.
I don't have too many complaints about the boat, but I'm finding the trailer to have some questionable traits.
1. The boat comes VERY close to rubbing the front of the trailer...like within an inch to the cutoff end of a tube...not cool.
2. The bunks sit on metal channels. The channels stick down about 4-6 inches further than I'd like. Today, for example, it was LOOOOWWWWW tide when I dropped the boat in at Bordentown. I dropped off the end of the concrete before the boat was even close to movable, and it just landed on the bunk supports. Annoying. I had to use all my might to push the boat off, and then drag it back onto the wheels.
Thanks for the kudos on the truck. I do love it. It has ~ 150k on it and started as an auto. About 3 months ago I started out at a light, heard a loud boom! and the auto grenaded itself in the middle of an intersection. So, I ended up buying another truck of like year, but with a badly rotted body, with a stickshift...stole the parts I needed and sold the rest of it for the engine. The whole swap cost me right around $1000 with a new clutch. Was quite a job, but in retrospect, it wasn't too bad.
