bought the boat in october,
1. took it home to take the family out on lake santa fe (fl) and it ran but sputtered.- spark plug wires were not put on all the way.
2. changed plugs and took it out again- melted the ignition wires over starboard riser- assumed i moved them onto the riser when changing plugs
3. fixed wires and took out again, boat got hot ~190
4. fixed the impellar, boat got hot ~185
5. changed water pump and thermostat- got hot again
6. changed risers and manifolds....worked perfect, all day long yesterday:)

Ah yes. Sometimes you got to work the kinks out of a used boat. Glad you got it straightened out. My first trip out with mine after having extensive work done to "awaken" the outboard and my fuel pump went. Second time it was the stator. Third time perfect and has been going strong for 4 seasons.

Well, eating at the Conch House and riding down to and seeing Fort Matanzas would indeed be a great day of boating.
