Couple of things.First,Have a 19ft. boat with an AQ125A volvo.I needed a new prop.Mine was 14x19.It ran about 4300rpm's @WOT.Guy at shop says rpm's too low.He gives me 14x17 prop.RPM's with two people in boat are hitting 5000rpm's and with the kids with us we are around 4900rpm's.Am I ok with that? Next, since going to new prop take-off has increased which I figured it would, but I also gained top end(about 4-5mph)I didn't expect that.Is that normal?

Not sure trebor..I have a 3.0 litre 130 HP in line 4cyl..I think my WOT is 4600 RPM...but my prop is a 14X19..At 4200 RPM I cruised around 42 MPH and have good holeshot so I am OK with it..I have not pulled a skier yet and that might make me change my prop pitch..Usually better holeshot means slower WOT speed......Pete44

Pete, those Volvo 4 cylinder engines are a lot different from your Chevy 3.0L engine. They are OHC (Over Head Cam) With a timing belt with a single barrel carb and putting out only 115 hp.
trebor, stick with that prop. The book calls for 4800 (no Plus or Minus) the similar 125B is listed for 4700 to 5000. So your in that range.
You are better off at the higher rpm and just not going WOT all the time just because it takes the load off your engine. With the 4300 rpm max rpm, you were straining the engine at all speeds.
