when you say you adj. slightly down , what would the angle of the floats look like if you turn the carb.. right side up after adj. IKE1952 130hp. dual carbs 1973 Chrysler .would the float be angled down at a sharp angle or a slight angle thank you this helped alot the way i,m getting this is well do you want the float from its own wait when the carb is right side up or upside down .what i,m trying to say is from its own weight upside down should it touch the casing of the carb. or be ridgid and stay level with the casing.if you get what i,m saying .new to bigger motors .IKE1952

Re: angle of floats

When you turn the carb upside-down with the bowl removed, under its own weight, the float bottom should be parallel to the carb casting. I adjust them so they droop slightly past parallel. Not much, not even a 32nd inch. Just visible. Definitely do not touch the casting. Makes the carb run slightly richer (higher fuel level)

With the carb upside down, try to blow through the fuel inlet fitting. You should not be able to do so. The needle should seal. If it does not seal, replace the needle and seat. Right side up, it should pass air freely.
