Hey crew,

I've got a complicated issue with what should be a simple job. The anodes on my '94 Larson Cabrio 280 are corroded as hell. I've managed to get one bolt off, but I literally can NOT get a socket around the other bolt heads.

I was thinking of trying some PB Blaster to see if it'd eat the corroded junk away, but wanted to see if any of ya'll had any magic tricks for such a situation.

thanks!

I use a flat head screwdriver adn scrape away at it until I can get a thin walled socket onto it. There was more material there when it was installed than now. It didn't grow. a lasst resort would be to drill it an EZ out it.

Wire brush, file, anything to knock away the corrosion. But flat head screw driver indeed works best.

Even if that doesn't work, No need to drill out the bolt. Just use a hacksaw or cutoff wheel and cut the anode off, then the bolt will be sticking out and you can get any wrench/socket on it you want.

I'd pound a socket on once you have it cleaned up. If that didn't work you could always weld another nut on top of the one there?

I wouldn't suggest heat, too close to the trim cylinder itself, and the seals inside.
You aren't going to weld a nut on it either, the socket is only a 5/16". It's a little bolt.

AKA The Victor Wrench. ;-)

As others said, get in there w/ a screwdriver and open up the area, the corrossion will move out quite easily, enough to get your socket on. The heat is a bad idea anywhere near those seals on the pistons.
