anode replacement VP SX

I have a 1997 Seaswirl Striper that I use about 50/50 salt and fresh water. Usually it is trailered but occasionally we will moor it for a long weekend. I have been doing some cosmetic maintainance on the outdrive and was wondering about the anodes. There is no pitting to be found on either the drive or the anodes so I would assume that they are doing their job. Should they be cleaned or replaced. Should I assume that they are made of aluminum vs. Zinc? I previously read a long sticky thread posted on here about which is better. Should I have a bare metal to bare metal type connection between the anode and the drive ?

If the anodes have more than 50% left you are fine.

Really, if you are only mooring it for weekends, you have nothing at all to worry about regarding your anodes.

The anode really protects mostly from stray current and that has much larger effect then time in the water. Like above poster said if there is substantial anode left then you are fine.
