Anode , washeser or no washers ? 40-50 HP 1989

I have a 1989 Evinrude 48 spl. It did not have a # 398873 Bearing Carrier Zinc Anode (located behind propeller). I have stainless bolts to mount this but I do not know if I should use any washers flat or locking?

UPDATE EDIT - my lower end is actualy a 1990 50hp unit.

You could use lock washers or star washers. Even a little Lock Tite thread locker would be work.
