I need some Help, I have the motor running.. I filled up the can full of water and it starts pretty easily. But every motor I have had in the past pee's.. I get exhaust out of the port along with fine mist. What I see is more bubbling happening down by the fin. Is this normal for this motor? can anyone give me suggestions what is happening or is this normal. Motor does not seem to be overheating. Every indicator hole I remember seeing is alot smaller. This tube is more like an exhaust tube. see attached photos. Thanks...:confused:

Also, I have changed the impeller.. Someone told me that if by chance I did place it incorrectly it will correct its self.. Is that right or wrong. Shaft goes clock wise... impeller should curve counter.. its a 35hp Evinrude Lark..

Could it be the ThermoStat?

Looks like the motor is not deep enough in the water. Get a deeper bucket. Should be a healthy spray of water out of the exhaust relief port. New impeller should correct itself if placed in wrong, but sounds like you have it right.

Re: Another 1959 lark?

Thanks for responding Lindy46...

I have moved the trash can as high as I can get it and filled it to the rim. (No change) Then I removed the Thermostat and tried that..

Does anyone know if there is a flush bracket to hook up to a hose for this motor. It does not seem the mickey mouse ear cuffs would work..

I will attempt compression test. I read somewhere on a thread that should be checked. not sure how to do it. I will need to read how to accomplish it.

Also someone said there is two different impellers for this motor? One if you have t stat and one if you dont. I ordered the one for 1959 35 hp here on iboat.

Thanks

You might want to try getting the muffs that are square instead of round. I have found that they work better for my motors.

try running the motor without a t stat. water should pour out of that exhaust relief hole at idle.

is it overheating?

did you get both water tubes into the water pump??

Re: Another 1959 lark?

I will take the boat down to the lake, that way I will know for sure where the water level is at and the pump should be submerged. For the water tubes. I thought I had them in. I will double check everything today.. Thanks for the suggestions... Keep them coming. something is being missed..
