Hi all,

The boat is an 1988 thundercraft nova 17 ft with a 3.0 mercuiser.

When giving it full throttle on take-off, it hesitates......

The choke plate is fully open,
the accelarator pump is working very good......almost too good.

Other then that it is a good running boat, bought it last summer and has bin doing this since i got it.

Did tune-up in the spring .....no change.

QUESTION...Could the pump be squerting to much full when smashing the throttle,
Because as soon as the "squerting" is done it TAKES-OFF.(I can visually see the fuel going in from the accelarator pump)

Thanks for any insight....

Joe.

Hi Joe,

Need an engine serial number.... SOME of the carbs on those engines have 3 holes on the accelerator pump lever and can be adjusted for volume...

I do not have the 3 holes to adjust....
Just the one hole presently being used....
As for serial #.....boat is not close to me right now.

The rpm's are perfect.....4600 when the boat is lightly loaded.
