Check out boatingABC's forum if you haven't allready. Its got a slightly different feel.

boatingabc.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

JB - can i not post a link to another boating forum? I am not selling anything nor do i have any affiliation with either forum. Freedom of speech man!

EDIT: No, you can't. That is a commercial site in competition with iboats. Have you no manners?

It is rude even to post the referral.

Freedom of speech is not the issue. Respect and common courtesy are what come to mind.

And my little thread about a big post gets locked . . .

Kidding JB, couldn't help it . . . :D

But then again, you let a little thread about a little thread about a big post stay, so . . . :D RF said weiner. RF said weiner. :p :p :D

Re: Another Boating Forum

Oh man this is getting funny... lets back up.

I added that freedom of speech comment after JB disabled my link and made it look like a typo with no explanation.

All i was doing was posting a link to another great boating resource. I'm not trying to convert anyone. I visit both forums everday and gain knowledge about boats, that's what this post was for.

THUNDERROAD - How did respect and common courtesy come into this? Don't get so serious on this forum. Don't click on the link if you don't want to.

Sorry for this rebuttle but I was just trying to post a helpful link. Get over it.

ebs, my "weiner" comment was meant as tongue-in-cheek. As evidenced by the use of the word weiner. I must have forgot to put a smiley after it. I like pictures too!

I waste too dang much time on just this one. If I went there too, I'd never get anything done. ;)

Don't feel bad. A link to an industry site I put up got bumped. They weren't competitors, either. Rather, a pro-boating-industry site not selling anything except "boating". They're even giving stuff away.

Re: Another Boating Forum

I visit 4 forums on a regular basis. This one was most handy when working on my old evinrude, and now my MerCruiser inboard. The other one is boat brand specific. The other two cover a broader range of boating subjects. I constantly refer people to this forum, from the general boating forums, when they ask engine/motor specifics. I think every forum fills a specific niche.

I'll drop you a post card.

Re: Another Boating Forum

LOL! at realgun.

Yeah, there are other sites, but I prefer this one. Sometimes I post on other forums, but I like the PEOPLE and their tolerance for opposing opinions, methodologies, humor, etc. And the KNOWLEDGE base is darn near impossable to beat.

With very few exceptions, the members of iboats.com forums are head and sholders above the average poster on other sites.

I do think a photos forum would be a great enhancement to these forums. But photos do take space, and space means more servers. iboats.com has to pay for this stuff somehow....
