These people live right near the river, but still had no idea of the danger. This is downstream of the first dam, but before the second low dam. They got caught in the roll at the dam. Sad.

I don't know how those dams work, but after the kayak went over, did the motorboat follow them over to pick them up and can a motorboat do that?
Or were they fishing below the dam and saw them headed for it?

Much trouble as motors can be to restart, I don't think I could enjoy boating upstream of a deadly hazard. It's enough for me dealing with tides, but at least I won't fall off the edge of the map.
