So I installed my motors yesterday.... new mounts,... rough alignment is ok, and I just had one question regarding that.....
Should the engines be perfectly level (check by putting a level on them) and then go to adjusting each side equally until the desired result
is reached.... I assume that is the case, but I just wanted to be sure...
Thanks...

Ayuh,.... Level don't matter,.... Just adjustin' the trailer jack can change level,...

True to the keel line is what counts,....
Actually, True to the transom assembly is the Only thing that matters,....

Agree, don't pay any attention to level.

Have rear mounts just snug, pick up front of motor from a single point directly in line with the thermostat housing (V6, V8). Have front mounts nuts on top removed. Pick up just enough to clear bottom nuts, then adjust them up so they make contact with bottom of mounts. Release hoist and this is the starting point for alignment. Turn nuts on both sides the same amount of turns up or down

Follow up....
i did as suggested. I think we are pretty good.
So I can insert alignment tool with little effort. Two fingers no problem. Removing it is more difficult, i kind of need to pull on it a bit. I am thinking it's because of the grease.
What are your thoughts??

Ya. Suction fom the grease. Slide it in there dry and see what happens. Probably the same result but i wanted to say it reguardless.

Have a look at the video I made on engine alignment (in my signature line at the bottom)... Also, when checking and adjusting engine alignment, rear mount screws should be fully torqued. (older engines have a double wound washer which needs to be fully compressed. But the practise remains the same for newer engines too..)

So I think I am ok with the engine alignment on my new motors.... I was looking around this morning just
tidying stuff up, and I noticed that the port engine seems to be an inch or so higher than the starboard engine...
Both seem to be in alignment,..... you guys think this is an issue, or just move along.....??

As with all question we cannot see, feel what you can. If it goes in easy and comes out slightly harder, IMO there is no issue. So far as one visually being higher then the other, this does not play into the equation. The alignment is as Bondo mentioned in post 2.

Thank You... Kind of what I thought.... I am just very cautious at this point....once she goes in I have to pay to have it hauled out again so I want to be as sure as I can while she is on the hard....
