another floor qustion

86 bayliner capri open bow.i want to know if i can cut 2 by 6's and use them for beams or stringers across the bottom of the hull be for i lay the floor down.i want to do this cause it will support my floor better,and if ok i would glue then to the hull and then epoxy them and fiberglass them,will that work?thank you

2x6s are overkill. You should use the dimension of whatever was used before, or like I did, use 3/4 ply. My project has six stringers, spaced from 7 to 14 inches apart though, so I have a lot of support and strength. If you use expanding foam under the floor, that will provide a lot of support and structure as well. Good luck....
