Hi,

Just bought this project boat on the w/e. It's a Vickers Easy-Rider 156. The old back to back seats have been removed by the previous-previous owner. I aim to put in a couple of pedestal swivel seats. The floor is in good condition, but the glassed in area where the old seats used to sit is hollow - everywhere else feels and sounds quite solid. I was thinking of putting in a thick wooden plank across the top of the glass where the seats will be placed, glassing this in all the way up to the inner side of the hull and then carpeting the whole floor. Is this a good idea or do I need to cut out the patch work and fit in some foam or stringers ? All suggestions are welcome.

PS. No that's not rust stain... it's just the color in the epoxy around the patched up area.
Cheers.
Darren.

Darren,

As long as the floor is sound, I think your idea will work fine.
