Another fuel gauge ?

Just bought a new 2008 17' Sea Fox. The dealer sold and installed the gauges on the boat and they have no brand name on them.
From new the fuel gauge would go from full to half to empty. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem? I am not sure if it is the gauge or the sender, or how to go about testing to find out which one is at fault.

Since it is new, I would make the dealer fix it.

I completly agree with you except for two things.
1.) The dealer i bought the boat from is 60 miles and another state away.
2.) After the dealings i have had with him so far I think I am better off posting questions here and trying to fix it myself.
I purchased this boat from this dealership because it was the only dealership that would rig my engine to a new boat. Really like the new boat and am very comfortable with my 90hp Johnson. Just want the fuel gauge to work.
