I recently bought a boat that has a '95 Merc 25HP on it. I immediately brought it to my local Mercury dealer and had them go over it, replace the plugs and some plastic linkage clips, replaced the water pump and thermostat and changed lower unit oil. I've only had the boat back from the dealer for a week, used it last weekend and this weekend and noticed both times that when I flush the motor after I get it home (on muffs) that the telltale water is hot...not warm, gets down right hot.
I didn't think much about it until I just saw another member asking the same question. This is my first Mercury, I've Evinrude/Johnson my whole life so I just dismissed it as "that's the way Merc's are" but now I'm concerned.
What say you all?
