As my motors only ever see salt water i'm wondering if these old motors have anodes anywhere. They don't leap out at me. Is it worth tacking one on somewhere? they are 3hp. The exhaust cover looks like it might be one but it is painted and shows no signs of sacrificing itself.

Re: Another lightwin question re anodes

Anodes are never painted haddles.....unless someone paints over one. Anodes can protect against water electolisis but I doubt they would do much against salt water corosion. Best thing for salt water rigs is a good bath in fresh water after taking the engine out of salt. If you leave the engine in the water, a small anode on the anti-cavitation plate is usually where the anode is placed on small rigs.
