Another name for a bendix?

After searching the various post and trying the suggested fixes, I believe I need to replace the bendix in my starter. However, when I search the web for a bendix for my 1994 Mercury 175 HP engine I can't find anything. I was hoping it may also be called something else. Any ideas?

Also, it looks like I can get a whole new starter somewhere between $150 to $200. Is it worth replacing the bendix or should I just get a whole new starter? I would rather be safe than sorry.

I would replace the starter, just might be easier, faster, and more realiable. It is hard to get parts for parts.
