Another new VIP owner!

Hey guys.. glad to see a group of VIP owners...
Just picked up my first.. its a 1997 VIP Valiant


Here it is the day I bought it at the guys house.






Since then I have removed the maroon pinstripe, buffed and cleaned it and the trailer...








I think it looks like a new boat now... that pinstripe really aged it to me.

Thanks, I like it too. especially now.. I was kinda so so on it before I bought it.. the oxidation, the trailer condition, the stripes, and mildewy interior... but about 6 hours work its a new boat, almost... plan on doing more to it. Would like to put some lights on it.. I like the hull lights, but I dont want to cut holes in my hull. . .

Actually I think the fact that it looked bad when you bought it and YOU made it look like new makes it more your own than going to the local boat store and buying a pretty new one and turning the key. I actually enjoy the buffing and cleaning because of the results when it is finished.

I also agree it looks a lot better without the stripe!

same here... I hardly ever buy anything "new" or turn key... as my name suggests.. I own a 65 ford f100 that I got for 400 bucks.. I have been rebuilding it for 3 years.

from a car show last year.. believe it or not.. it won 3rd out of 80ish

its now got a bed, and in the body shop getting straightened out.

hope to put my attention towards the boat while the trucks in the shop.. still have about 6 more months or so.

Congrats...nice boat. I was thinking of fully removing all the pin stripes and VIP logo on mine...but then there is never time since there is always something else that keeps popping up! A hole in the water you throw money into.
